Cameron Highland Trip (キャメロンハイランド)

Date: 2011 Aug 28 - Aug 30 (Hari raya)
Departed from: Pudu Raya bus terminal
Departed to: Cameron Highland

DAY1

Pudu Raya bus terminal

On the way, we made a short rest stop at a small service area.
There are toilets, small shops and canteen.
They have Malay food such as Nasi Campur and curry and local food.

Almost 4 hours to get there!! Our bus dropped us at Tanah Rata (it's a downtown in this area.)
Tanah Rata

First, we went to a small cafe, which is very old Chinese-Malaysian style mixed with British style.
Of course, it's classic to have scones and a cup of tea!!

In Cameron highlands, strawberries are famous. You can put fresh strawberry jam on scones.

It was very nice having scones with BOH Tea, which is also from Cameron highlands.

After being very satisfied with scones, we went up to our hotel; Equatorial Cameron Highland. The hotel is located at the high level of the highland. We called a taxi.
hmmm... all the taxi do not have a meter machine, so that you have to negotiate every time.

Hotel Lobby

 Guest room

The room itself was quite old but it was not bad. It was still clean.

As Cameron highland is a very cooling place and nice weather, this room does not have an air-conditioner (Of course, you do not need a cooler!!)

For me, I needed heater.....

I'm very easy to get cold and unfortunately, at the 1st night, the weather was really bad...

It started to be foggy and rainy with very strong wind. It was like typhoon!!

Anyway, this hotel is located at the above sea level  1,628m

WHAT to EAT for DINNER: Steamboat is really famous here.... It's just steamboad but it's nice that you eat something hot in a cold place.

We had normal Chinese food...

DAY2

We joined a half day tour from the hotel.
You will find many types of tours in hotel concierge.

There is small shops which sells souvenir and strawberry ice and juice.
We tried strawberries with condensed milk. Compare to those Japanese strawberries, Cameron highland one is smaller. I did not expect it would be sweet and delicious but it was much better than I thought. It was sweet and sour a bit. Just nice with condensed milk.

After that we went to a swimming pool in the hotel to burn all the calories we consumed. The hotel web page said the swimming pool is warm water.
Hmmm.. :) Nice! It's like a hot spring!!

My boyfriend jumped into the pool......... !!!!! Very cold!!!!
It seemed they have forgotten to turn the heater on.

For the dinner, we had Hari Raya buffet at the hotel restaurant.
There were mainly Malay local food. If you like spicy Ethnic food, you will love it!!

DAY 3

It was the last day for us.
After we check-out, we headed to Cameron Valley Tea House.
On the way to the tea house, since it was the first day of Hari Raya, lot of people just arrived at Cameron so a terrible traffic jam happened just like KL.

Of course, Scones xD
I guess scones in Cameron are the cheapest price as I have ever had....

When you feel like eating scones and having a cup of tea, why don't you go to Cameron Highland!!
