Plans in Langkawi Island, Malaysia

I love Langkawi!!

Why?

Hmm... No reasons but it's very nice to relax and enjoy beaches and activities.

Well, I am going to go to Langkawi this weekend. Of course, when it comes to "travel", I am crazy about making plansss!!!

Langkawi Map


  • Pantai Cenang: it's the most  touristic area, which has many restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, backpacker hotels.
  • North area is the best for the beaches!!
  • Kuah: the biggest town 

As Langkawi is not a big island, you can travel around by car or bike. You can rent a car / bike at Langkawi airport or some of the hotels.
So I am going to rent a car this time and will drive around!!!

When it comes to "travel", I am very noisy about what to eat there.
I am actually tired of the loacal food so I want to eat something different and feel relaxed.

There are actually a lot of information on web.

Orkid Ria Seafood Restaurant

I went there when I visited langkawi first time. It seemed very fresh and amazing!!
I am so excited. I will report to you soon!

Unkaizan

It's a Japanese restaurant. Since they can get fresh seafood, Sashimi must be nice and delicious!! The place is a bit difficult to find. As long as I remember it was at the end of Pantai Cenang and you have to go inside.
It seems the price is dependent on the season but if you like Japanese food, it would be a very good opportunity.

Tomato - Mamak

It's a mamak restaurant in Pantai Cenang. According to my boyfriend, the cheese naan is the best in the world. Actually I went there last time but I don't remember about this at all. So I will report in my next blog.

Oh, for your information, Mamak is a typical malaysian restaurant which serves malay and indian mixed cuisine. You can try Indian naan (bread with curry) , Roti canai (thin bread with malaysian style), Mixed rice (rice with some vegetables and deep fried chicken) I guess Mamak restaurant is the cheapest restaurant in Malaysia. If you want to try malaysian local food with a reasonable price, you can try it at a Mamak restaurant.

Also, Malaysian national drink is Teh Tarik (Milk tea). They put condensed milk instead of normal milk for teh tarik. It's also very interesting how they mix black tea and the milk.
They pull teh tarik from high and pour it into a cup.





There are some other places where I want to go but I will write about this in my next blog.. hehehe

As for Activities!!

1 day, we will go to a beach where is at the north.
I went there last time and there were much lesser people at the beach so I could relax and enjoy it.

I went to this place long time ago. Since the mountain is quite high, I remember it was kinda cold with T-shirt. It was very windy and the weather was not so stable. I will bring a thin jacket next time.

On the way up to the mountain, you can see Telaga tujuh as well. Telaga tujuh mean 7 waterfalls in English.

When I was searching about what to do in Langkawi on website, I found out that there are 3 national geo parks, but actually Langkawi itself is a geo park!! It seems Langkawi island is very old and a very beautiful geography.

If you like jungle trekking or exploring in jungles, you can join for 1 day tour.

This time I am thinking to visit  one of the geo park which is at the west side of Langkawi.


When I was searching on website, I also found out cruising tours!!

It's a sunset cruise !!!
You enjoy the awesome view having a cocktail.
Sunset Cruise

This cruise takes you for about 3 hours and you can choose either sunset cocktail cruise or sunset dinner cruise.

It would be an amazing cruise!!! I don't think I am going for it this time thou, when I can have more time there, I want to try!

Souvenir 

You must get Gamat soap, it's a sea cucumber soap.
When you heard of this, I am sure you would think "yuck" but don't worry, it looks like a normal white soap and smells nice.

Why I am recommending you this gamat soap is, sea cucumber extract is very good for skin and beauty. I don't know why after I started to live in Malaysia, my skin became a dried skin type and I can't survive without body cream everyday. Gamat soap is moisturizing your skin and also good for pimples and atopy skin.

I will definitely bring a lot of soaps back... :D

マレーシアで運転免許更新

マレーシアでの運転免許証が ちょうど有効期限が切れたので、更新に行ってきました。 Petaling JayaのJPJ に行ってきました。 最近免許証があたらしいデザインになったようで、今まで郵便局で更新できていたけど、外国人＋新しいカードに書き換えるためか郵便局では拒否されました。 仕方なく、JPJへ。。。。 Google Mapで検索しても場所が見つからなく、JPJのサイトを見るとJalan Sultanと。 んー。。よくわからん。 Googleで検索してDirectionをクリックすると、Google Mapが出てきたのですが、 「何？こんな芝生の中にあんの？？！」 とりあえず、Mapにしたがって、道なりに歩いて、Jalan Timurまで。 でも、どう見ても芝生の真ん中に建物なんてないんですけどー！！ Jalan Timurを下り、気がつけば通り過ぎている。 Hmmmm.... で、気がつけば☆マークのJalan Sultanに来てました。 でもJPJのサイトにはJalan Sultanと書いていたんよねーと思いながら人に尋ねようと、、、っていうかこのエリア車運転しなさそうな、学生ばっかりなんですけどー。。。 よく分からんので、Lorong Sultanに入り、働いてる世代のローカルの人がMakanしていたので、聞いてみました。 「Jalan Produktivitiに上がってそのまま真っ直ぐ行って駅の方だよ！」 ハーッ！！駅から来たんですけどー！！と、心の中に閉まっておきながら、、、「ありがとう」 すごい納得がいかず、仕方なしトボトボ駅の方向へ向かいました。 それから、新聞売ってるおっちゃんに出会い、念のため。 「JPJはあっち？？」 「そうそう、まっすぐ行って、そのまま左行って！」 それから2分くらい歩いて、そのまま道なりに左に入ると大きな駐車場が。 駐車場といっても広い空き地が駐車スペースになっていて、肝心の建物どれや。。？とりあえず、奥へ奥へ進む。じゃ右方向にちっこい建物が。。。 「え？これなんや！しかもめっちゃ 駅前 やん！！」 中に入るとわんさか人が！！！ 旧正月前の連休に更新しとこって人が多いのかな。 入り口の受付で...

【マレーシア アストラゼネカワクチン】コロナワクチンさっそく接種しました！

最後に更新したのが2015年の2月。 この存在を忘れていましたが歴史に残るくらいのイベントなので書き留めようと思います。 マレーシアでアストラゼネカのワクチン接種しました！ まずはなんで今回このような機会がMina Tequilaに回って来たか。 マレーシアでは医療従事者でもなく、フロントライナーでもなく、在宅ワークをしている身です。が、しかし、このチャンスは急に訪れました。 日本ではアストラゼネカのワクチンは未承認と聞いていますが、当初マレーシアでも評判は良くなかったようです。65歳以上の高齢者の為に取り寄せたけど様々な反発があったとか。それで老若男女、職業、国籍問わずマレーシア政府が ”Volunteer”として希望者を募ったようです。私の周りの外国人（欧米系）やマレーシア人の友人はさっそく登録していました。 5月3日正午12時オンライン登録開始 12時前から携帯の前にスタンバイ、開始と同時にサイトにアクセスし登録しようとしましたがアクセス殺到？システムエラー？でできませんでした。何回かトライするも全くダメ―!!12時20分頃サイトが正常に動き出して、速攻GET!! 希望の日を選択するだけ。時間は勝手に決められます。 登録完了したらこんな画面。 そうすると、そのうちMySejahtera（マレーシアのコロナ関連トラッキングアプリ）に更新され予約時間が設定されます。 そして当日。。。 当日は16:30の予定でしたが訳アリで15:30頃には会場入りしてました。 クアラルンプール市内にあるWorld Trade Center わかりやすいようにCovid 19 Vaccination Centerの看板が！ 早速、中に入るとお決まりのMySejahteraスキャンをして検温を。 そして中へ進むと、ワクチン会場への入り口が。 STATION①と②、スペシャルレーンに分かれています。 グループ①か②かは、MySejahteraの部分に予め設定され、表示されています。 係りの人がいるので、アプリの画面を見せたらどっちのレーンか案内してくれます。 ちなみにMina Tequilaは②でした。（どうでもいいけどｗ） そしてレーンをくぐったら、ワクチン会場の登録スキャン、検温、手の消毒をします。 完了したら、申込用紙が渡されるのでそこで記入します。 ※ペンと下敷きを持って行ってね...

Earlier, I mentioned about Donation Fraud in Sri Lanka. Starting from this experience, my experience in Sri Lanka was miserable ... T.T (Maybe miserable is too much to say, but I still believe that orange bracelet brought us bad luck.) Now I would like to share some other experiences in Sri Lanka. 2. Three Wheeler  On the 2nd day in Sri Lanka, Kandy. We requested a Three Wheeler at a hotel reception to go to the city. It was 300Rps to go to the city, as our hotel was a bit far from the city, it took us to get there for 20mins by three wheeler. At the end of the day; we tried to get a three wheeler at the same point as we got off in the morning. One three wheeler stopped in front of us and asked us to get in. We told him our hotel name and showed him the hotel address, but he did not know where the place was. He asked around with other three wheeler drivers and finally he got where.
